Korean dishes have 2 well-defined features, one is the spicy flavor and another is the hot flavor due to chilies. Normally, several regions that you might come across highly spiced food around the planet exhibit some things in common. These places are often humid and/or hot places, geographically, or else they were part of a main spice route in olden times. Korea is neither sultry nor hot, having a quite chilly environment overall. One strange thing is that this area was never the part of spice route.
Without any of these traits, Korea is said to have the highest per capita eating of chilies in the world. So how did this Korean affection for hot and spicy eating happen? There will be dinner and dancing. Some cruise passengers can pay a premium price, and have dinner with the ship captain at his table. It is naval tradition, that to eat with the captain is an honor. All of this is a plus for vacationers, because many people don’t get the opportunity to dress up for a 4-5 star meal, complete with dancing.
